Chief Secretary for Administration holds Christmas mini-concert for children (with photos/video)
***************************************************

The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, held a mini-concert at the Victoria House this afternoon (December 12) for over 100 secondary and primary students to celebrate Christmas.

Sitting on the lawn, Mr Tang and the students enjoyed the light and festive melodies conducted by conductor Mr Perry So and performed by musicians from the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.  They sang the Christmas songs together.  The appearance of Mr Jim Chan, winner of the Santa Claus Winter Games in Sweden this year, brought the event to a climax.

Mr Tang hoped that the participating students would know more friends from different backgrounds.  He encouraged the students to learn to appreciate music and culture.

Children attending the concert today were invited by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.  They were from different backgrounds.  Some were ethnic minorities or from single families, and some were with disabilities.
