SHA congratulates HK athletes on capturing nine more EAG medals

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, congratulated Hong Kong athletes on winning one gold, two silver and six bronze medals in the East Asian Games today (December 11).

     "I am thrilled by the excellent performance of our athletes who have won a total of nine medals today at the games. We are deeply impressed by their exemplary participation and sportsmanship," Mr Tsang said.

     The Hong Kong delegation has so far won 11 gold, 18 silver and 32 bronze medals in the 2009 EAG.

     The list of Hong Kong athletes who won medals today is as follows.

Gold

(1) Men's Lightweight Double Sculls in Rowing: Chow Kwong-wing, So Sau-wah

Silver

(1) Women's Lightweight Quadruple Sculls in Rowing: Lau Ching-man, Lee Yuen-yin, Tong Siu-man and Wong Jing
(2) Women's Lightweight Single Sculls in Rowing: Lee Ka-man
 
Bronze

(1) Wushu - Taolu Changquan Women: Zheng Tian-hui
(2) Wushu - Taolu Changquan Men: Leung Ka-wai
(3) Men's Lightweight Four in Rowing: Kwan Ki-cheong, Leung Chung-ming, Lo Ting-wai and Tang Chiu Mang
(4) Men's Lightweight Single Sculls in Rowing: Lok Kwan-hoi
(5) Athletics 3000m Steeplechase Women: Yiu Kit-ching
(6) Athletics Decathlon: Ng Chit-wing
