In relation to a Hong Kong tour group having a traffic accident in Wuzhen, Zhejiang, a Government spokesman said today (December 9) that the Immigration Department had, upon notification from the travel agency, immediately liaised with the Office of the Government of the HKSAR in Beijing to follow up the case. An Immigration Officer from the Beijing Office had arrived at the hospitals in Wuzhen to visit the victims to offer assistance.
The spokesman said the Immigration Department would continue to keep in close contact with the travel agency and Beijing Office to render assistance.
Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868.
