State Councillor Liu Yandong to officiate at 2009 East Asian Games

     State Councillor, Madam Liu Yandong, will make a special visit to Hong Kong from December 5 to 6 to attend the opening ceremony of the 2009 East Asian Games (EAG).

     "The 2009 EAG is the first international multi-sports games to be held in Hong Kong.  We are most honoured to have State Councillor Liu with us to officiate at the opening ceremony," the Chief Executive Mr Donald Tsang said today (November 30).

     The 2009 EAG will be held from December 5-13. About 2,300 athletes will participate in competition events under 22 sports, and 262 gold medals will be presented.
