The Buildings Department approved 26 building plans in October - nine on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, 10 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, five were for commercial developments, and 11 were for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 13 building projects that, when completed, will provide 99,852 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,215 units, and 64,034 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 12 building projects.
The department also issued 10 occupation permits - five on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 38,039 square metres, involving 527 units, and 52,211 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in October totalled about $1.8 billion.
In addition, 12 demolition consents involving 12 building structures were issued.
The department received 2,395 complaints against unauthorised building works in October, and issued 1,994 removal orders on unauthorised works.
