The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in October showed a decrease of 96 cases over September, representing an insignificant decrease of 0.03%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (November 18).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of October stood at 289,981 (see attached table), with a total of 481,935 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases showed a decrease of 0.4% to 33,991.
Single parent cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.5% to 36,576.
Low earning cases showed a decrease of 0.3% to stand at 15,706.
Old age cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.1% to 153,160 while ill health cases showed an increase of 0.3% to 25,301.
