Hongkong Post today (November 16) announced that a set of stamps based on the theme of "Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games" would be released for sale with associated philatelic products on December 5 (Saturday).
The 5th East Asian Games will be held in Hong Kong from December 5-13. It is the first time Hong Kong has had the honour to host a regional multi-sport contest of this scale. Hongkong Post is issuing this set of stamps to commemorate this event as an exciting milestone in Hong Kong's sporting history.
Official First Day Covers priced at $1 each will be on sale at all post offices starting from next Saturday (November 21), while stamps and associated philatelic products will go on display at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from November 21-27.
