Twelve people were intercepted in connection with alleged document fraud and illegal migration activities in a special operation conducted by the Hong Kong Immigration Department with the participation of local consulate representatives of Australia, Canada, France, Israel, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States of America as advisers or observers.

The operation began on Monday (November 9) and ended yesterday (November 12).  A total of 456 target flights, 59 ferries and more than 2,390 profiled passengers were spot-checked.  As a result, six forgery users or escorts were intercepted, and four questionable passports and a questionable visa were found.  In addition, six Hong Kong residents were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the illegal transfer of HKSAR passports.

The operation codenamed "Sky League" was aimed at detecting document fraud and forgery users, interdicting illegal migration activities, deterring irregularities in passenger traffic and strengthening co-operation with local consulates in combating illegal migration.
