The Government announced today (November 12) the appointment of three new members to the Airport Authority with effect from January 1, 2010. The appointments will be gazetted tomorrow.
The three new members are Mr Chan Kam-lam, Mr Albert Ho Chun-yan and Mr Allan Wong Chi-yun. Their term of appointment is three years from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2012.
Mr Chan and Mr Ho are experienced Legislative Council members, with rich experience in community work, while Mr Wong is a major manufacturer of electronic products in the Pearl River Delta and is a member of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council.
"They will provide valuable input on infrastructural planning and operation of the Authority," a Government spokesman said.
Under the Airport Authority Ordinance, the chairman and members of the Authority are appointed by the Chief Executive.
