The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, left for Singapore this afternoon (November 10) to attend the 16th APEC Financial Ministers' Meeting.
Mr Tsang will also take the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts in other APEC economies.
He will attend the Ministerial Retreat on Thursday (November 12) in which ministers will discuss, among other things, new sources of growth and how APEC could further advance structural reforms to raise the potential output growth rate.
Mr Tsang will also attend the two plenary sessions in which "Global Economic Developments and Implications for Fiscal Measures" and "Facilitating Finance for Sustainable Growth" will be discussed.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on Friday (November 13). During his absence, Secretary for Development Mrs Carrie Lam will act as Financial Secretary.
