Key medical and public health officials and professionals from Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong will attend the Ninth Tripartite Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Zhuhai on Thursday and Friday (November 12 and 13).
During the two-day meeting, experts from the three places will discuss public health issues of mutual concern including the overall situation and control and preventive measures on infectious diseases, monitoring of human swine influenza and anti-microbial resistance, and collaboration of medical and public health experts in the three places.
Led by the Director of Health, Dr PY Lam, the Hong Kong delegation will comprise representatives from the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority.
His counterpart delegations will be led by the Director-General of Health Department of Guangdong Province, Professor Yao Zhibin and the Director of the Health Bureau of Macao, Dr Lei Chin-ion.
