Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O early this morning (November 9) in which a 17-year-old woman died and 22 men and 13 women were injured.
About 12.20am, a bus driven by a 36-year-old man was travelling along southbound Po Shun Road. When it was making a left turn to Tong Ming Street, it reportedly lost control and side turned.
The 36-year-old driver and 35 passengers, aged 8 to 69, sustained injuries and were taken to Kwong Wah Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, United Christian Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital.
A 17-year-old female passenger who was sent to United Christian Hospital was later certified dead at 12.56am.
The 36-year old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding.
