Police arrested a 28-year-old woman suspected to be in connection with an infanticide case in Ma On Shan last night (November 8).
About 8pm last night, Police received a report that a baby body was found on the clothes-drying rack outside a flat on On Luk Street.
Police officers sped to the scene and located the body of the baby boy. The naked baby was found with an umbilical cord. Initial examination revealed that it was a newborn baby.
Police conducted investigations at the scene and arrested a 28-year-old woman inside a flat on On Luk Street. Initial investigations revealed that the woman was suspected to have thrown the baby out the window from the flat after she gave birth to the baby boy.
A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the baby's death.
The woman was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment. She was arrested for infanticide and is still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Sha Tin District are underway.
