A Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Tai Sin Hospital (WTSH) spokesperson made the following announcement today (November 6):
Four female patients (aged 73 to 94) and one staff member of a Rehabilitation and Extended Care ward in WTSH have presented with diarrhoea, vomiting or fever symptoms since October 29. Laboratory tests were arranged for the patients. The Norovirus tests of two patients are positive and one is negative. Test result of the remaining patient is pending. The patients are now under isolation treatment and their conditions are stable. The staff member concerned has recovered after treatment and returned to work today.
Infection control measures have already been enhanced. Admission to and discharge from the ward are suspended for the time being, while visiting arrangements remain normal. All patients and staff in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
