The Government announced today (November 5) the appointment of Ms Alexa Chow Yee-ping as a member of the Statistics Advisory Board from November 5, 2009 to May 31, 2010.
A government spokesman said: "We are delighted that Ms Chow has accepted the appointment. We are confident that her expert knowledge and experience in human resources management will provide valuable contribution to the work of the Board."
Ms Chow is the managing director of the Centaline Human Resources Consultants Limited.
The spokesman also paid tribute to the outgoing member, Professor Cheung Yan-leung. He said: "We are most grateful to Professor Cheung for his valuable advice to the government statistical work in the past five years."
The Statistics Advisory Board is a non-statutory advisory body established in 1972 to advise the Commissioner for Census and Statistics on matters pertaining to official statistical work. The Board consists of both official and non-official members to tap the views of data users, data suppliers and statistical scientists on a wide range of statistical issues. The non-official members are established professionals of different disciplines to enable a balanced representation of views from the business, the academic and the community sectors.
