The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (November 4) obtained two orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $710,000 against two employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgments against two employers, Leung Hing Chiu Chow Restaurant and Painting International Beauty Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $628,782.49 and $86,847.23, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 48 and 12 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendants to pay costs of $930 each.
