Public Consultation on Medical Priority Dispatch System to end tomorrow

     The Government launched a four-month public consultation on the proposed Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) on July 3, and the consultation period is due to expire tomorrow (November 3). The Government welcomes the views submitted by both individuals and organisations during the consultation.

     The purpose of the Government's proposal to implement the MPDS in Hong Kong is to improve emergency ambulance services. Under the proposed MPDS, response to emergency ambulance calls will be prioritised in accordance with the degree of urgency, to provide quicker response to patients in critical or life-threatening condition.

     After the expiry of the consultation period, the Government will carefully consider all comments and views received during the consultation before finalising its proposal. Subject to the views of the public, the Government will secure the necessary resources for the relevant department on the basis of need.
