The Government today (October 30) announced the re-appointment of Mr Joe Lai Wing-ho and Mr Fred Li Wah-ming and the appointment of Ms Wong Ka-chi to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from Sunday (November 1).
"We are delighted that two incumbent members and a new member have accepted the appointment. We are confident that their experience and expertise will be invaluable to the work of the council in promoting consumer interests," a government spokesman said.
The spokesman said an incumbent council member, Rev Billy Lau Kam-sing, would retire from the council tomorrow (October 31). "We would like to express our gratitude to Rev Lau for his contribution to the council's work in past years," he said.
The appointment notice is published in the Gazette today.
