The two-day auction for stalls at the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair was conducted smoothly. A total revenue of $11,169,140 was brought, compared with $6,729,970 last year.
All the 475 stalls at the Fair, including 284 for dry goods, 180 for wet goods, eight for thematic dry goods and three for fast food, were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
In the second day auction (October 29), all of the eight thematic dry goods stalls was let. The successful bid prices for the stalls ranged from $30,000 to $41,000, with an average at $37,250.
For the dry goods stalls, the successful bid prices ranged from $14,000 to $60,000, with an average at $24,206, which is about 3 times of the opening price of $8,740. Today's auction attracted around 3,600 participants.
Auctions of stalls for Lunar New Year Fairs in Kowloon and the New Territories will start next Monday (November 2) and November 9 respectively.
