The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, began his visit in Beijing today (October 28). He called on the National Development Reform Commission, Finance Ministry and the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
During the meetings, Professor Chan and respective officials have discussed the development of the financial markets in the Mainland and Hong Kong.
In late afternoon, Professor Chan also officiated at the Grand Opening of the Design Gallery of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Beijing.
Tomorrow (October 29) morning, Professor Chan will deliver a keynote speech at the Opening of the 13th Beijing - Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium. Before the opening of the Symposium, Professor Chan joined by prominent Hong Kong businessmen will call on the Mayor of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Mr Guo Jinlong. He will also attend the opening of the First Hong Kong Brands Exhibition.
Before leaving Beijing in the afternoon, Professor Chan will participate in the Beijing-Hong Kong Financial Services Cooperation Forum.
