Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, at a media session after attending the "MyCar" Home Station Launching Ceremony at Hong Kong Polytechnic University this afternoon (October 23):
Financial Secretary: That was a very nice ride. Very quiet, very steady. I really enjoyed the ride. This is part of our scheme after I have set up the steering committee on electric vehicles. I sincerely think that we have the capability in Hong Kong, not only in the research aspect, but also in the production aspect, particularly in terms of car parts and car accessories. Now we have a design of an automobile. So the potential is huge. I hope that the businessmen in Hong Kong will grab hold of this opportunity and expand and look beyond what they have been doing in the past and go into the production of something like MyCar, and make that link in the green economy a meaningful one. Thank you very much.
