The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 16) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $239,000 against 26 employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgment against an employer, Healing Hands Yoga Massage & Spa Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $239,433.86, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 26 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it was received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendant to pay costs of $930.
