Youth Square holds open day

     The Youth Square, commissioned by the Home Affairs Bureau, will hold an open day on Sunday (October 18). Apart from presenting a variety of performances and activities, various facilities of the Youth Square will be open to the public.

     Located at 238 Chai Wan Road (Chai Wan MTR Station Exit A or E), the Youth Square comprises a main block and a hostel block, with a total gross floor area of about 40,000 square metres. The key facilities are a theatre, platform, studio, multi-purpose areas, retail shops, function rooms, resource centre, offices and hostel guest rooms.

     The Youth Square serves as a focal point for territory-wide youth development activities in Hong Kong. It provides a variety of facilities for youth development activities organised by different community groups, so as to raise the quality of youth and to nurture them as leaders in society. The Youth Square also facilitates youth exchanges and strengthens their communication and exchange with youth from the Mainland and overseas.

     The open day of the Youth Square will be held from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday. Admission is free. A rich variety of programmes will be held, including a history of Hong Kong comics exhibition; comic workshop; Hong Kong athletes photo exhibition and sharing session; outdoor dancing performance; percussion performance and workshop. Guided tours will also be arranged from 2pm to 5pm for visitors to see the different facilities at the Youth Square.
