The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in September showed a decrease of 165 cases over August, representing a decrease of 0.1%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (October 14).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of September stood at
290,077 (see attached table), with a total of 481,128 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases showed a decrease of 0.4% to 34,121.
Single parent cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.4% to 36,759.
Low earning cases showed a decrease of 0.6% to stand at 15,756.
Both old age and ill health cases showed a month-to-month increase of 0.1% to stand at 153,005 and 25,217 respectively.
