The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is investigating an imported case of Legionnaires' Disease involving a 40-year-old man.
The patient had developed fever, headache, vomiting and diarrhoea since October 2 in Beijing. He was admitted to a hospital there in critical condition. He was transferred to Hong Kong yesterday (October 8) for further treatment and was admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital on Hong Kong Island on the same day. CHP investigation showed that he was in Beijing during the incubation period.
