The Transport and Housing Bureau welcomes the revised guidelines issued today (October 7) by the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong (REDA) on various enhancement measures for the sales brochures and promotional materials of uncompleted first-hand residential properties.
The measures include: (1) sales brochure must contain only prescribed information about the concerned development but not other information or pictures which are purely of promotional nature; (2) the location plan and the relevant outline zoning plan(s) in the sales brochures have to meet the specified minimum size requirements; (3) the location plan should provide more comprehensive information about the locations of the nearby communal and public facilities; and (4) printed promotional materials containing "artist impression pictures" must carry a statement advising prospective flat buyers to make reference to the sales brochures and conduct on-site visit.
The bureau earlier discussed with REDA possible ways to further enhance the clarity and accuracy of information in the sales brochures and promotional materials of uncompleted first-hand residential properties. REDA agreed to put in place the above enhancement measures.
"We expect that the enhancement measures will further enhance the clarity and accuracy of the information in the sales brochures and promotional materials of uncompleted first-hand residential properties, and facilitate prospective flat buyers to get hold of the required information more easily and comprehensively. We will monitor the implementation of the enhancement measures together with REDA," a spokesman for bureau said.
According to REDA's revised guidelines, the enhancement measures will be applicable to the sales brochures and promotional materials of uncompleted first-hand residential properties published on or after November 1.
