A 76-year-old man died in a No.1 alarm fire that broke out at about 7.06am yesterday (October 3) in Lau Fau Shan.
The fire broke out at a concrete and brick structure of about 8 x 20 metres which was used as a godown and staff dormitory at Fung Kong Tsuen, Lau Fau Shan. Firemen used one jet and two breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. The fire was put out at 7.22am on the same day.
Firemen found a man sustaining multiple burns at the scene. The man was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital, and then transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital, where he was certified dead at 7.48am this morning (October 4).
No suspicious circumstances were detected as to the cause of the fire.
