Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

    Police will implement special traffic arrangements along routes on Hong Kong Island to facilitate a parade to be held on Sunday (September 27).


(A) Road closure

The following roads will be closed from 3.45pm:

1) A section of westbound Causeway Road between Hing Fat Street and Tung Lo Wan Road;
2) Irving Street;
3) A section of Pennington Street between Keswick Street and Yee Wo Street;
4) A section of westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Hennessy Road;
5) Jardines's Bazaar;
6) A section of westbound Hennessy Road between Yee Wo Street and Fenwick Street;
7) A section of northbound Lee Garden Road between Hennessy Road and Kai Chiu Road;
8) Tang Lung Street;
9) A section of Canal Road East between Hennessy Road and Russell Street;
10) A section of Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
11) A section of Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
12) Wanchai Road between Tin Lok Lane and Canal Road West;
13) A section of northbound Johnston Road between Thomson Road and Hennessy Road;
14) A section of Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road; and
15) Kai Chiu Road.

Depending on the traffic and crowd situation, Police may implement the following road closures without prior notice:

1) A section of southbound Gloucester Road from the U-turn loop underneath Tai Hang Road Flyover to Kingston Street;
2) Sugar Street;
3) Great George Street;
4) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
5) A section of westbound Kingston Street between Gloucester Road and Paterson Street;
6) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Flyover and Causeway Road;
7) Cleveland Street;
8) A section of eastbound Kingston Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road;
9) Paterson Street between Gloucester Road and Kingston Street;
10) Yacht Street;
11) A section of Lau Li Street between Ngan Mok Street and Hing Fat Street;
12) A section of Electric Road between Lau Sin Street and Tsing Fung Street;
13) A section of Lau Sin Street between the cul-de-sac outside Park Tower and Hing Fat Street;
14) A section of Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Sin Street; and
15) A section of northbound Tai Hang Road Flyover between slip road to Tung Lo Wan Road and westbound Victoria Park Road .

(B) Traffic diversion

The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 3.45pm:

1) Traffic from westbound King's Road must turn left into southbound Tung Lo Wan Road or turn right into northbound Hing Fat Street;
2) Traffic along westbound Tung Lo Wan Road is prohibited from turning right into Moreton Terrace;
3) Traffic along northbound Tung Lo Wan Road is prohibited from entering Irving Street and must turn left into westbound Leighton Road;
4) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street must turn right into Keswick Street;
5) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street is prohibited from turning right into southbound Tung Lo Wan Road or westbound Leighton Road;
6) Traffic along northbound Yun Ping Road must turn left into westbound Lan Fong Road;
7) Traffic along westbound Russell Street will be directed to turn left to southbound Canal Road East;
8) Traffic along Sharp Street West will be prohibited from turning left onto Bowrington Road and Canal Road West and will be diverted to Canal Road flyover;
9) Traffic along northbound Bowrington Road must turn right onto eastbound Sharp Street West;
10) Traffic along eastbound Wanchai Road must turn right onto southbound Morrison Hill Road;
11) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road will be prohibited from turning right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
12) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
13) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning left onto westbound Hennessy Road; and
14) Traffic along Tin Lok Lane will be prohibited from turning left onto westbound Hennessy Road.

(C ) Suspension of Public Light Bus (PLB)/ Green Minibus (GMB) and Taxi Stands

All PLB, GMB and taxi stands along the closed roads will be suspended from 3.45pm until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

(D) Suspension of bus stops

All bus stops along the closed roads are to be suspended from 3.45pm until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

(E) Suspension of carparks along the parade route

Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public / private car parks from 3.45pm until the crowd has dispersed and the closed roads are re-opened to traffic.

1. Carpark of Regal Hotel;
2. On Lok Lane;
3. CNT Tower at 338 Hennessy Road;
4. Cheuk Nang 21st Century Plaza at 250 Hennessy Road; and
5. Shanghai Industrial Investment Building at 48 Hennessy Road.

(F) Suspension of on-street parking spaces

All on-street parking spaces, metered and non-metered parking spaces along Tung Lo Wan Road will be suspended between 3.30pm and 6pm.

(G) Suspension of the leftmost traffic lane for coaches laagering area

The following traffic lanes will be suspended for coaches laagering:
1. The leftmost lane of westbound Man Kwong Street; and
2. The leftmost lane of eastbound Man Kwong Street.

Motorists are advised to take heed of traffic signs and follow instructions of Traffic Police at the scene.
