Hongkong Post today (September 24) announced holiday arrangements for National Day on Thursday, October 1 and Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on Saturday, October 3. On October 1, 37 philatelic post offices will open for the issue of the "60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" special stamps and associated products. The General Post Office will open from 9am to 5pm, the Airport Post Office from 8am to 5pm and the remaining 35 philatelic offices will open from 9am to 2pm. On October 3, all post offices will be closed except the General Post Office and the Airport Post Office. The business hours of the two offices will be from 9am to 5pm and 8am to 5pm respectively. A list of the 37 philatelic offices is attached.
There will be no mail delivery on either October 1 or October 3 while one mail collection will be arranged on October 1 for all street posting boxes except those on outlying islands and in remote areas.
