Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

     Police are investigating a traffic accident on the Island Eastern Corridor in Chai Wan this evening (September 19) in which a 40-year-old man was killed.

     A private car driven by a 26-year-old man was travelling on the Island Eastern Corridor towards Shau Kei Wan about 6.56pm. When reaching near Tai Koo Shing, it reportedly cut lane and collided with a motorcycle driven by 26-year-old man.  

     A 40-year-old passenger of the motorcycle sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.15pm.

     Both drivers and a 25-year-old female passenger of the private car were also injured and taken to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.   

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
