The Home Affairs Department and the 18 District Offices have held the Hong Kong 18 Districts Drawing Competition in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
With the theme "Happy Birthday to Our Motherland", the competition encouraged primary and secondary students to submit drawings showing modern China's accomplishments in culture, sports, science and technology, social and infrastructure development as well as its people's livelihoods. Winning entries will be on display to the public from tomorrow (September 10).
The drawing competition was held from May to July in two categories, Primary School Category (P4-P6) and Secondary School Category (F1-F4). In the first round of competition, each of the 18 districts selected one first prize, one 1st runner-up, one 2nd runner-up and three merit award winners for each category. The first prize and runners-up winners from all districts were invited to enter the 18 Districts final competition. The final assessment then selected one first prize, one 1st runner-up, one 2nd runner-up and three merit award winners for each category.
All winning entries will be included in a commemorative publication for the competition and displayed at a roving exhibition from tomorrow to October 4. People are most welcome to visit the exhibition at the following venues.
