Tickets to the Peace and Harmony-The Divine Spectra of Manjusri Exhibition, to be held in mid-October, will be distributed from Thursday (September 10).
The exhibition, featuring Manjusri and related artifacts, is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Chinese World Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Hong Kong Buddhist Association. Admission is free.
Manjusri, possessing the strength to save mankind from miseries, is regarded as the apotheosis of transcendental wisdom. The exhibition is an extension of the "Peace and Harmony" series. The Manjusri theme aims to exemplify the Chinese nation's natural instinct to pursue peace and harmony. It allows the public to appreciate the essence of such a pursuit and to achieve purification through the spiritual experience.
The exclusive artifacts on display - gold thangkas, ivory, jade and porcelain carvings as well as gold and bronze castings - are the fruitful expressions of devotion and artistic talents of ancient craftsmen. Such artifacts also evidenced the significance of the Silk Road in the development of Buddhist arts.
