Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 69-year-old male pedestrian was killed in Wan Chai this morning (September 4).
A light good vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old man, was travelling along Queen's Road East towards Happy Valley about 6.27am when it hit the man who was crossing the road at 282 Queens Road East.
The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.13am.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information about the accident is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8849.
