In response to media enquiries regarding the invitation by the Sichuan Provincial Government for Legislative Council (LegCo) Members to visit Sichuan, a Government spokesman said today (September 2) that the Government welcomed the invitation extended by the Sichuan Provincial Government to LegCo.
"LegCo has been very supportive of the HKSAR's post-quake reconstruction support work in Sichuan. The HKSAR Government understands that, given the heavy workload involved in the reconstruction work, the ability of the Sichuan Provincial Government to receive visitors would be limited," the spokesman said.
"We hope that the visit will help Members understand further the latest development of the HKSAR's reconstruction support work in Sichuan," he said.
