A poster promotion has been launched in Tsim Sha Tsui to mark the 250-day countdown to World Expo 2010 Shanghai China tomorrow (Aug 24).
The 68-poster series in the high-traffic Salisbury Road pedestrian subway will help to publicise Hong Kongˇ¦s participation in the World Expo.
The bilingual posters highlight Hong Kongˇ¦s connectivity locally, nationally and globally ˇV a major theme of Hong Kongˇ¦s participation in the Expo.
The eye-catching series brings out Hong Kongˇ¦s special attributes as a city connected by ideas, creativity, technology, cultural diversity and closeness to nature.
Hong Kongˇ¦s participation in Expo 2010 covers four aspects: building a stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion; taking part in the Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA) exhibition; a comprehensive online presence; and organsing a range of events and activities before and during the Expo period.
More than 240 countries, cities and international organisations have confirmed their participation in Expo 2010, which is expected to attract 70 million visitors from the Mainland and around the world.
Under the theme ˇ§Hong Kong - A City with Unlimited Potentialˇ¨, the Hong Kong Pavilionˇ¦s sleek contemporary design features a huge transparent mid-section, symbolising the openness and transparency of Hong Kong society.
The theme of Hong Kongˇ¦s UBPA exhibition is ˇ§Smart Card, Smart City, Smart Lifeˇ¨. The exhibition will showcase Hong Kongˇ¦s extensive use of smart card technology to improve the efficiency and quality of daily city life.
