Tender for human swine influenza vaccine cancelled

     The Department of Health (DH) announced today (August 20) that the tender for the supply of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine was cancelled today because there was no offer which conformed to the essential requirements specified in the tender document at tender closing.

     A DH spokesman said that the deaprtment will continue to procure HSI vaccine and is taking the next step in the procurement exercise in accordance with Stores and Procurement Regulations (SPR).  Under SPR, the DH can invite tenders including limited tender.

     The HSI vaccine tender exercise opened on July 17, 2009, and closed on August 7, 2009.

     "The DH is carrying out planning activities for the HSI vaccination programme targeted to commence by the end of the year when vaccines become available. The DH is closely monitoring the situation," the  spokesman said.
