Police arrested a 78-year-old man today (August 8) suspected of killing his 67-year-old wife at home in Tseung Kwan O.
About 8.45am, a report was made to Police by a 78-year-old man that he had assaulted his 67-year-old wife with a chopper at his residence in Po Lam Estate, Tseung Kwan O.
Police officers arrived the scene and located the 67-year-old woman lying unconscious on the floor inside the flat with a chopper beside her. The 78-year-old man was found sitting inside the living room.
The woman was certified dead by the ambulancemen at the scene.
The 78-year-old man was arrested for ˇ§Murderˇ¨ and still being detained for enquiries.
Initial examination found multiple chop wounds on the womanˇ¦s head, nape and both hands. A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kwun Tong are continuing.
