Appointments to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority

     The Government today (August 7) announced the appointment of Mr Ng Hak-kim as Chairman of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) and re-appointment of Mr Hui Chin-yim as deputy chairman. A new member, Mr Chan Kwok-wai, was also appointed.  The appointments are for three years from September 1, 2009, to August 31, 2012.  The appointment details are as follows:

Mr Ng Hak-kim (chairman)
Mr Hui Chin-yim (deputy chairman)
Mr Chan Kwok-wai (member)

     The Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, said: "HKEAA is an important partner of the Education Bureau in the smooth implementation of the new senior secondary education academic structure. I am confident that the distinguished members from educational and other professional fields will enrich the expertise of the authority."

     Mr Suen also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing chairman, Mr Koo Yee-yin for his contribution over the years.
