The Government today (July 31) announced the appointment of two new members, Ms Florence Chan Yuen-fan and Ms Chitty Cheung Fung-ting, to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). Their term will be from August 1, 2009, until October 31, 2011.
ˇ§We welcome Ms Florence Chan and Ms Chitty Cheung to join the Board. Ms Chan is a Partner of Ernst & Young. She is currently a member of a number of public sector advisory and statutory bodies, including the Business Facilitation Advisory Committee. Ms Cheung, a general manager of Cathay Pacific Airways, has extensive experience in the airline industry.
ˇ§We look forward to working with the new members and are confident that their expertise and experience will help the HKTB in developing effective marketing strategies and enhancing corporate governance,ˇ¨ a spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau said.
ˇ§We are also very grateful to Ms Vivien Chan and Mr Dane Cheng, the outgoing members, for their dedication to and unfailing support of the Board. The HKTB has benefited in no small measure from their wise counsel,ˇ¨ the spokesman added.
The appointments to the HKTB are made by the Financial Secretary under section 9 of the Hong Kong Tourism Board Ordinance, under authority delegated from the Chief Executive.
