Government concerned about HK tour group members being quarantined in Beijing
*******************************************************

A Government spokesman said today (July 29) that the Immigration Department and the Beijing Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (BJO) were concerned about some members of a Hong Kong exchange tour group being quarantined in Beijing.

They were put under medical observation in Beijing after some others in the group were treated for human swine influenza (Influenza A H1N1) there.

The Immigration Department and BJO have contacted the group and sent staff to visit those members in quarantine. They will continue to maintain close contact with the group and will render assistance in accordance with the situation.

It was learnt that most of the tour group members are about to return to Hong Kong today. The Department of Health advised these members to seek medical attention if they have developed any respiratory symptoms after their return.

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit's 24-hour hotline at (852) 1868.
