Fatal case of human swine influenza recorded

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health has received notification from the Hospital Authority that the 37-year-old woman Filipino patient who was confirmed to have infected with human swine influenza (Influenza A H1N1) on July 11 passed away today (July 27).
The woman arrived in Hong Kong on June 28 and developed fever on June 29. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of United Christian Hospital (UCH) on July 7 in critical condition.
The case has been referred to the Coroner by UCH for investigation. CHP will report the case to the World Health Organisation.
