Indonesia-bound HK travellers should watch local situation

     A government spokesman today (July 18) advised Hong Kong residents who planned to visit Indonesia to pay close attention to the situation there following the latest attack in Jakarta. Those who are already in Indonesia should attend to their personal safety.

     The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will continue to maintain a close liaison with the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia to monitor the latest situation there.

     Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868.
