The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was very concerned about a news report that scores of Hong Kong and Macao students were found missing in a Qinghai county.
The Beijing Office of the HKSAR (BJO) had immediately contacted the relevant Mainland authorities to find out more about the case.
Though the latest news report said that the missing students have been located, the BJO will continue to look into the case.
No request for assistance has been received so far. Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868.
