In response to media enquiries about the number of government advisory bodies on which Mr Moses Cheng is serving, a government spokesman said today (July 14) that Mr Cheng had been appointed to serve on six government boards and committees, namely,
(a) Chairman, Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations (CACCR) of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). As CACCR Chairman, he is an ex-officio member of the ICAC Advisory Committee On Corruption (ACOC). The ex-officio status does not constitute a separate appointment;¡@¡]* The Chairmen of the other two ICAC Committees, i.e. Operations Review Committee and Corruption Prevention Committee, are also ex-officio members of ACOC.¡^
(b) Chairman, Education Commission;
(c) Chairman, Betting and Lotteries Commission;
(d) Member, Financial Reporting Council;
(e) Chairman, Advisory Committee on Post-office Employment for Former Chief Executives and Politically Appointed Officials; and
(f) Chairman, Advisory Committee on Post-service Employment of Civil Servants.
His recent appointments are in full compliance with the six-board rule.
