Tsim Sha Tsui no.3 fire alarm roundup

     A unit on the first floor of Hai Phong Mansion at 99-101 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, was severely damaged during a No.3 alarm fire this morning (July 6).

     The fire broke out at 6.19am and was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 7.15pm. It was under control at 8.20am and put out at 9.20am.

     Firemen used three jets and mobilised four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.

     Five men and four women were injured and sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment by ambulances.
 
     A 49-year-old man was certified dead at the hospital; a man was in critical condition, two women and a baby were in stable condition; and a man, a woman, a boy and a girl were discharged after treatment.

     About one hundred persons were evacuated to place of safety.
