The Land Registry today (July 6) released its statistics for the first half of 2009.
Land registration
-----------------
* The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration for the first half of 2009 was 58,826 (+54.9% compared with the second half of 2008 but -21.9% compared with the first half of 2008).
* The total amount of consideration involved in these agreements was $205.65 billion (+65.3% compared with the second half of 2008 but -28.8% compared with the first half of 2008).
* The number of assignments of building units for the first half of 2009 was 51,056 (-18.3% compared with the second half of 2008 and -49.2% compared with the first half of 2008).
* The total amount of consideration for these assignments was $151.32 billion (-19% compared with the second half of 2008 and -57.6% compared with the first half of 2008).
Land search

* Searches of land registers made by the public during the first half of 2009 was 2,218,798 (+6.7% compared with the second half of 2008 but -14.8% compared with the first half of 2008).
