The Financial Secretary has re-appointed Professor Chan Ka-lok, Mr Fong Hup and Mr Edmond Lau as members of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx). The appointment is for a term of two years with effect from Wednesday (July 1).
The appointment was made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
A Government spokesman said, "Professor Chan, Mr Fong and Mr Lau have made much contribution to the work of the RMC over the past two years, and we look forward to their continued contribution in future."
The RMC was established in March 2000, with the statutory role of formulating policies on risk management matters relating to the activities of HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the Board of HKEx.
The RMC is chaired by Chairman of HKEx Mr Ronald Arculli. The other serving members of the RMC include Mr Marvin Cheung, Mr Benjamin Hung, Dr Bill Kwok and Mr Keith Lui.
