Health talk in Sai Kung promotes flu prevention messages (with photos)
*********************************************************

The Sai Kung District Office and Sai Kung District Council (SKDC) held a health talk in Tseung Kwan O today (June 26), attracting residents and representatives from district organisations and property management companies.

At the talk, a doctor was invited to brief the audience the symptoms, mode of transmission and preventive measures of human swine influenza, while representatives from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department reminded people of useful measures for observing personal, household and environmental hygiene. The talk was well received with keen responses at the question-and-answer session. Disinfectant packs were also distributed to the participants to encourage them to join in the fight against the pandemic.

Sai Kung District Officer, Mr Peter Chan, said, "The talk aimed to enhance public awareness on the prevention of influenza. We hope that participants can pass on the messages at their home or workplace to draw more people's attention to the importance of hygiene and help prevent further spread of the disease."

To tie in with the Clean Hong Kong Campaign, SKDC has set up a working group to devise and launch a series of anti-pandemic actions. The working group will continue to organise various publicity events and cleaning operations to further improve environmental hygiene.

The Sai Kung District Office and SKDC will hold another health talk next Tuesday (June 30) at The Sai Kung Jockey Club Town Hall to promote the anti-pandemic messages to residents in Sai Kung.
