BJO officers to fly to Gansu tomorrow to help quarantined Hong Kong tour group

     Regarding a group of Hong Kong tourists being quarantined in a hotel in Gansu, a Government spokesman said today (June 24) that the Beijing Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (BJO) had been maintaining close contact with the group. Officers from the Immigration Division of the BJO will fly to Gansu tomorrow morning to visit the group and offer appropriate assistance.

     The spokesman said the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit (AHU) of the Immigration Department, together with the BJO and the Department of Health, will continue to keep in touch with the tour agent and the tour group and render assistance as far as possible.

     Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the AHU's 24-hour hotline at (852) 1868.
