In view of the recent development of human swine influenza, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (June 23) that, after consulting the Department of Health, the department will resume its sports, recreational and cultural activities organised for children, and classes and activities organised by Music Office and participated by children from this Friday (June 26). The Children's Multimedia Room at Central Library and the Discovery Gallery at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum will be reopened on the same day. The LCSD will reduce the number of seats in the Children's Multimedia Room and limit the number of people to be admitted to the Discovery Gallery.
The LCSD will continue to temporarily close its children's playrooms and the Toy Library at Central Library until further notice.
The LCSD will implement Health Department's enhanced guidelines when holding the activities.
The LCSD also announced that since the Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village is no longer used as a quarantine centre by the Department of Health, it is now carrying out thorough cleansing and disinfection in the holiday village and will reopen it (except for the children's playroom) from July 27. Members of the public can book the camp facilities for the period between July 27 and August 31 starting from 8.30am on July 2. Application can be made by telephone (tel. no. 2927 8080), at District Leisure Services Offices or at venues with Leisure Link Services.
The Lady MacLehose Holiday Village is reserved for government use for contingency and will remain closed until further notice.
For enquiries, the public may contact the Department's Hotline at 2414 5555.
